What this recipe does

Designed to calm the spike-then-slump energy pattern.

Why it fits PCOS/PMOS goals

Slower glucose release is one of the most useful levers for insulin resistance, which sits underneath a lot of PCOS/PMOS symptoms.

Ingredients that matter most

rolled oats, natural almond butter, honey or maple syrup

How to log it fast

Log rolled oats first, then natural almond butter if that was the part most likely to affect energy, cravings, or symptoms.

Ingredients

If you log this in Atlas later, start with the main ingredients below. The pattern engine cares more about the meal signal than a perfect kitchen diary.

  • 160g rolled oats
  • 120g natural almond butter (or peanut butter)
  • 4 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate chips (70%+ cocoa)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 2–3 tbsp oat milk (if needed to bind)

Method

  1. 1

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or your hands until everything holds together. If the mixture is too dry, add oat milk one tablespoon at a time.

  2. 2

Taste and adjust — more honey if you want sweetness, more almond butter for richness.

  3. 3

Roll into 12 balls, roughly the size of a large walnut.

  4. 4

Place on a lined tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  5. 5

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Why this works for PCOS/PMOS

Low-glycaemic foods release glucose slowly, preventing the blood sugar spikes that drive insulin resistance — the core metabolic issue in PCOS/PMOS.
